Welcome to the Arab League! Once we arrive in Dubai, you all will have the opportunity to take on the roles of some of the most powerful political figures in the Middle East. We expect that all of you will have thoroughly researched and prepared for your roles so that we can quickly begin diving into the complex and interesting issues that affect the region’s countries and the relationships between them. We, your committee staffers, are extremely excited to discuss the topics we picked for the committee. Both of us have come with considerable experience staffing HMC conferences.
Sam is a sophomore studying Social Studies. Outside of HMC, he writes for the Harvard Political Review, works to promote sustainability at Harvard, and plays tennis.
Wyatt is a junior studying Economics. When not in Dubai, he writes for the Crimson and the Huffington Post, volunteers at LIFT-Cambridge, and is involved in the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
We think the Arab League will be one of the most interesting and fun committees in HMC Dubai. This conference, we will be focusing on alternative energy development among Arab States and developing a means forward in handling the Syrian refugee crisis. We can’t wait to meet all of you in January!
