How to Prepare for HMCA:

• Read the Guide to the Constitution for an overview of the US government. Also, read through the Guide to Partisanship and the Guide to Federalism. Concentrate on getting a broad understanding of how the government functions.

• Read through the Guide to the Senate as well as the briefings on Human Trafficking and Air Traffic Congestion.  We expect that you will have questions, so feel free to email  Jon Staff (staff@fas.harvard.edu), the Harvard staffer who will be leading your committee, with any questions.

• Check out the links below to webpages and articles that relate to your committee and its issues. Let Jon know when you find something confusing.

• Stay on top of current discussion of your issues in newspapers like the New York Times. If you find an interesting article, email Andrei and Brittany and let them know.

• Check out the Guide to Drafting Legislation and the Rules of Parliamentary Procedure for more information on how your committee will operate.
